Mayor Dan Ridenour began his first-term as Mayor of the City of Muncie on January 1, 2020. Mayor Ridenour previously served Muncie as a city council member, January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2019.

As an elected official he has remained focused on seeking input and communication with residents. As a regular at neighborhood meetings, Dan is constantly reaching out to the community for ideas. His “Dream with Dan” events held throughout the city have resulted in more than 300 unique suggestions and ideas from those residents attending. He uses these ideas as a guide for policy and initiatives. As Mayor, he plans to continue attending community events and public forums.

Prior to becoming Mayor, Dan served as a Regional AVP with a Muncie based bank. He was responsible for the Central Region which included 13 branches in 5 counties. His banking career spanned 30 years including regional leadership roles with two other banks. He is an accomplished expert on the topic of credit scores and the author of three books on the subject.

Dan is married to Sherry, has four children and three grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, reading, basketball, and running on the incredible trail systems that exist in Muncie. He has completed 17 full and 32 half marathons.
